End-suction NORM type pumps

DESIGN

• The Turbo-NORM series pumps include low and medium pressure horizontal single-stage centrifugal pumps with volute casings.

• In addition to twenty-six different size  pumps conforming with DIN 24255 and Turkish Standart TS-268-1, Turbosan has developed fifteen extended models in this series.

• Discharge flange is normally located at the top of the pump. Position of the discharge flange can be changed optionaly. Flanges era as per PN 10. Other flange norms available on request.

• In order to minimize leakage loss renewable casing wear rings are used at both the sides of the impeller.

• Axial thrust id balanced by two wear rings with the same diameter and balancing holes.

• The Turbo-NORM series pumps cover the range from 4 upto 500 litres/sec with manometric head from 5 to 85 metres.

IMPELLER

• The Turbo-NORM seies pumps have closed impellers with blades of double curvature (Francis type) which provide higher efficiency, total head and cavitaiton-free running in comparison with blades of single curvature.

• Every impeller is balanced statically and dynamically.

BEARING ASSEMBLY

• The pump shaft is supported by two heavy duty type bearings of 6300 series with grease lubrication. Depending on the operating conditions oil-lubricated bearings can be used.

• For long running periods, as in Iron&Steel Works, heavy duty type bearings as seen on page 7 are installed in Turbo-NORM pumps. So, pumps can be run safelyand with minimum maintenance.

• The bearing bracket is carefully sealed off on bothsides to prevent water or contaminents from from seeping in.

SHAFT SEAL

• Standard stuffing box packing and lantern ring are used. Stuffing box gland can be removed completely from pump for easy packing addition and replacement. The shaft is protected by renewable shaft protacting sleeve in the region of the stuffing box.

• Mechanical seal and water chamber of cooling can be supplied optionally.

MATERIAL OF CONSTRUCTION:

As a standard the following material configuration is employed.

Depending on operating conditions and/or special requirements exotic material such as total Bronze or total Stainless Steel combinations can be employed thereof.

FIELDS OF APPLICATION

Turbo_NORM series pumps are suitable for

• Irrigation and spraying systems,

• Drinking water supplies to buildings, communities and towns,

• Pumping liquids with low viscosity (i.e gasoline, oil, acid base etc.) in industries,

• Cooling water system,

• Industrial plants on duty 24 hours a day, like Iron & Steel works.
